Nixon Candiales

Quantitative Analyst

Nixon joined DSA after completing two years of Ph.D. studies in Economics at Emory University and earning a master’s degree in economics from the University of Texas at Austin. Nixon leverages his background in economics, his advanced training in causal inference, and applied econometrics to support data-driven energy research and program evaluations. Nixon’s recent project work has focused on the effects of electric vehicle (EV) managed charging on energy use, measuring energy savings from home energy reports, investigating customer reactions to changing pricing rates, and assessing the impact of smart thermostats on reducing energy consumption. Mr. Candiales combines economic ideas with strong data analysis to support regulatory submissions, design programs, and evaluate program effectiveness.
