Senior Quantitative Analyst

Katie Leinenbach is a Senior Quantitative Analyst specializing in applied statistical methods, including difference-in-differences analysis. Her work centers on estimating the effects of energy efficiency measures on energy and capacity prices and evaluating demand response programs involving multiple devices and technologies.

Throughout her career at Demand Side Analytics, Katie has contributed to projects focused on demand response evaluations, demand reduction–induced pricing effects, and avoided energy cost analyses. Her experience includes evaluating two new Southern California Edison Demand Response Program initiatives.

Some of her recent work includes:

  • Developing and validating an innovative regression approach for the Demand Reduction Induced Price Effects (DRIPE) study
  • Supporting operations planning and event dispatch through analysis of demand response performance in a randomized controlled trial across technologies and conditions
  • Creating automated tools in Stata and Python to streamline client notifications and event analysis

Before joining Demand Side Analytics, Katie conducted research on the impacts of state health policies on older adults while pursuing her graduate studies at Emory University.

Katie holds a Ph.D. in Economics from Emory University, with published and forthcoming research, and a B.S. in Industrial Engineering from Purdue University. She is proficient in causal inference, regression modeling, and advanced statistical analysis.
