Alex Cory is a quantitative analyst with a background in environmental chemistry. Her doctoral and postdoctoral research focused on assessing the effects of biogeochemical pathways on soil stability. In her subsequent work at the USDA, she designed a database that was used to assess the effects of agricultural management strategies on greenhouse gas emissions. Most recently, Alex developed the database and various API endpoints for a nationwide metadata management application used to manage geospatial data assets. Her work is driven by a commitment to using quantitative analysis to diagnose and solve complex problems. Outside of work, she enjoys songwriting and plays in a millennial rock band called the Pocket Pets.
